Therapeutic Indicators are warnings of potential problems or messages regarding drug therapy. These indicators are used in the QS/1 Consultant Worksheet and Consult Pharmacist Report to perform Indicator Based Drug Regimen Review. An indicator can be linked to a drug through the Nursing Home Therapeutic Class Code on the Drug Clinical Information Window.
When the Consultant Pharmacist Worksheet and Consult Pharmacist Report are created, the system checks the Nursing Home Therapeutic Indicator Class Code field of each Drug Record against the patient's active medication profile. If that code is linked to a Therapeutic Indicator, that indicator prints on the worksheet or report.
