Here's What's New in NRx:
Added the ability to view the Drug from both Tickler and Patient Tickler Scans with the addition of a Drug column. Items that do not display a drug are: IVR Refill Requests, Customer Web Refills, Third Party Errors, Prior Authorization Web Requests, Rx Tickler (pended Rx), Prescriber RxRenewals from HealthMinder (printed and electronic), and InstantFill errors.
Added Freeze Generic Indicator to Drug
Added a Freeze Generic Indicator field to the Drug Record > Additional Information screen to improve accuracy by billing brand name and brand generic drugs using the correct pricing formula. Default = Unchecked. If selected, the generic indicator is not updated during Price Updates, Clinical Updates, or by updating the drug manually, even if Update Generic Indicator is selected in Store Level Options. The field was also added to the Drug Record in Batch Record Updates.
Added a Freeze Gen Ind report option to Custom Reports, Data Exports, and Security Journals. The field prints YES for checked and NO for not checked.
Added Lot Number and Drug Expiration
Added a View History link to the right of the Expiration Date field on the Drug Record > General Information screen. Select to access the new Lot Number/Expiration Date Change History window. There, you can view history for Date/Time, Employee, Initials, Lot Number, and Expiration Date. Ten rows display at once, sorted by date/time - most recent to oldest, and hold up to 999 total rows. Any lot/expiration date changes, including those made outside of Workflow via Verify NDC, as well as those in the Workflow Label and Dispensing, Quality Assurance Queues are logged to the new Drug Miscellaneous file.
Added an Rx Expiration Date to the Transaction > General Information screen. Field previously existed on this record, but did not display. Also, it was referred to as a Drug Expiration Date, but really acts as an Rx Expiration Date as on subsequent fills/refills, if the Rx Expiration (based on days in Store Level Options) is less than the Drug Expiration date on the Drug Record, it populates based on the Rx Expiration based on days. Taking this into account, the following report options were changed for Reports, Data Exports, and the Rx Transaction Archive:
The new Drug Miscellaneous File is a part of the Rx Miscellaneous File when running the following utilities: Copy, Clear, Reload, Key Rebuild, Purge, and Compress.
Added the new fields for the Drug Miscellaneous File to Reports and Data Exports.
Added Prescription Security Journal to the File Maintenance Scheduler
Added Prescription Security Journal to the offering of file choices in System Utilities > Master File Maintenance > Maintenance Scheduler. If the Transaction Security Journal file is too large to compress, an alert displays for the administrator upon login.
Added New Languages to Architext Labels
Added eight new languages to the Warning Labels Language drop-down list on the Patient Record and Batch Patient Record for Architext labels. The state of Oregon required additional languages so that warning labels can be used with the same languages as RxTran.
New Languages Added to Architext Labels:
Added Warning for Expired DEA and State License Expiration Dates
To prevent inadvertently filling a prescription from a prescriber with an expired ID and prevent audits, Added Prescriber DEA is Expired and Prescriber State License is Expired Price Plan Messages. During prescription processing, the Prescriber DEA is Expired message displays if the drug is a controlled substance and the Prescriber DEA Expiration Date on the Prescriber Record > General Information screen is less than the current system date and the Price Plan Message, Prescriber DEA is Expired, is set to Display and Allow Fill. The Prescriber State License is Expired message displays if the Prescriber State License Expiration Date on the Prescriber Record > Additional Information screen is less than the current system date and the Price Plan Message, Prescriber State License is Expired, is set to Display and Allow Fill.
Previously, prescriptions filled for a brand drug with DAW set to Y 1 (Substitution Not Allowed by Prescriber) were able to process through Workflow and be resubmitted after the drug was changed to a generic during the NDC Check via Label and Dispense or Quality Assurance Queues. This occurred even though the message, Substitution not Allowed - Cannot fill this Rx, displayed in the green bar on the Rx Summary.
Updated the NDC Check screen to remove the Change Generic link in Label and Dispense and Quality Assurance Queues if the DAW is set to Y 1.
Modified RxTran Label to be Store Specific
Modified the RxTran Label Design in Store Control > Label Options > Printing Options to allow each store to have their own specific setting in cases of hosts with remote locations.
Added Long Drug Name to Drug Record
Certain drug names exceed the 30 character max of the drug description on the Drug Record > General Information screen.
Added a Long Drug Name field to the Drug Record > General Information screen to enable your pharmacy to print the full drug descriptions on labels to prevent audits and to be compatible if using the ScriptAbility® interface that features talking labels.
Added label routine, 812, to print the Long Drug description from the Drug Record > General Information screen.
Updated Price Updates to update the Long Drug Name field on the Drug Record > General Information screen.
Pull Inactive Prescriptions onto HealthMinder Report
The following capability was added to ensure that for prescriptions discontinued/reassigned and therefore do not have a due date, the original prescription can be pulled onto the HealthMinder Report. Pulling the older prescription that has the due date still enables the prompt that the medication needs to be filled.
Added a Pull Inactive Print Option to the HealthMinder Report. Default = NO. Enter YES to pull both inactive and active prescriptions as long as the Due Date falls within the set date or date range on the Select Options. However, if the Discontinue Code Select Option is being used and is set to "#" and answered NO, the inactive prescriptions are not pulled, as the Print Option overrides that Select setting.
Modified Mail Order and Facility Multi-state PMP Reporting
The following was added in part for scenarios in which a prescription is filled in one state, but shipped to another.
Added Address, City, and State to the AMXX segment for PowerLine reporting. The segment is populated if the patient is in a facility or the Delivery Address is populated on the Patient Record at the time of fill. If the patient is not in a facility, and the Delivery Address is populated on the Patient Record and the Date Filled falls between the Use Between date range on the Delivery Addresses window from the Patient Record, the Delivery Address is sent in the AMXX field. If the Date Filled falls outside, the field is not populated.
Added a Use Delv Addr Print Option to PMP Reporting for the following state codes. Default = NO.
PM3
Enter YES to send the facility address in segments PAT12 - 16 instead of the patient Primary Address if the patient is in a facility. If answered YES and the patient is not in a facility, but has a Delivery Address entered on their Patient Record, then the PAT address is the Delivery Address instead of the Primary Address. If answered YES, and the patient is in a facility, but also has a Delivery Address, the Delivery Address is reported in the PAT segment.
A NO response continues to send the primary address from the Patient Record, or the address of the facility if they reside in a facility.
PM4/PM7
Enter YES to send the facility address in segments PAT12 - 16 instead of the patient Primary Address if the patient is in a facility.
If answered YES, and the patient is not in a facility, and does not have a Delivery Address entered on their Patient Record, the PAT address is the Delivery Address instead of the Primary Address. If answered YES and the patient is in a facility and also has a Delivery Address, the Delivery Address is sent in the PAT segment.
A NO response continues to send the Primary Address from the Patient Record, or the address of the facility if they reside in a facility.
Rx Monitoring Log
Updated the Rx Monitoring Log to report the facility state instead of the patient Primary Address if the patient resides in a facility. If the Delivery Address is different than the patient's Primary Address, the Delivery Address is sent. If the patient is both in a facility and has a Delivery Address on their Patient Record, the Delivery Address trumps the facility address. Both the pharmacy and delivery states are reported if they are not the same.
The state of Tennessee requires once daily reporting on date sold via the Rx Monitoring Log. Added the following to comply.
Store-side Manual Reporting
Updated the system to send the following fields/values
when using state code PM7 and using version 4.2A for Tennessee:
TH03 (Transaction Type) = 01
PHA11 (Contact Name) = Contact Name
Enabled the NewRx and Renewal Response hardcopies to print a full SIG, up to 1,000 characters, in keeping with SCRIPT standards and state requirements. Note: Print eRx Hardcopy on Full Page, in Store Control > Store Level Options > Rx Filling > Electronic Prescribing Options must be selected.
Added Service Pack and Operating System (OS) Compliancy Prompts
Using a current OS and being on the latest Service Pack are two of the most important ways to ensure your pharmacy stays compliant with the most current legal and functional enhancements. Added the following prompts that display upon the sign in of your administrator to assist your pharmacy in keeping up with these important measures.
After 30 days of receiving any of the prompts, and no updates are completed, a monthly service charge of $50 is incurred until compliancy is reached.
Service Pack Prompt
Prompt displays 153 days after the last Service Pack install date. It continues to display 30 consecutive days, or until a Service Pack update is installed.
OS Prompt
Prompt displays when the OS falls out of compliancy. It continues to display 30 consecutive days, or until the OS is updated.
Service Pack/OS Prompt
Prompt displays when both the Service Pack and OS need to be updated. It continues to display 30 consecutive days, or until the Service Pack and OS are updated.
Charges Prompts
On day 183, a prompt displays if a Service Pack, OS, or both updates have not been installed to indicate charges to be incurred.
