Here's What's New in PrimeCare:
Added Security Option for Auto Substitution
At times, generics are entered by technicians into the Brand field for generic orders received from facilities, rather than looking them up, to prevent dispensing errors. If a technician does not have security access privileges to change a brand drug on a prescription and the drug is set up for Auto Substitution, the system would previously not allow the fill.
The following changes were made to enable the fill in this scenario.
Note: Auto substitution logic is not changing how a drug is automatically substituted.
Added Allow Brand Auto-Substitution and Allow Generic Auto-Substitution options to Security Access > Prescription Access.
Certain Quantity Unit of Measure National Cancer Institute (NCI) codes are no longer in use. Background changes have been implemented to ensure the correct codes are sent in Renewal Request, CancelRx Response, RxChange Request, RxFill, and NewRx Request messages.
Added Logging of Pharmacist When Counseling is Not Performed
Added the following system changes to meet legal requirements to log the pharmacist even when counseling was not performed.
Changed the Counseling Provided by option to Counseling Performed on the Pharmacist Login window.
Pharmacist Login Window - Wireless Signature Capture
Pharmacist
Updated the Pharmacist Login window for wireless signature capture to offer counseling. If the RPh user is selected, the RPh, date, and time are logged on the Transaction regardless of the Counseling Performed setting. If an RPh is logged in, their ID defaults in the Offering Pharmacist ID field and the password defaults to blank. The Patient Declined and Counseling options default to on or off depending on the patient's selections on the Patient Counseling prompt. The RPh user defaults as the RPh regardless of the patient's selections on the Patient Counseling prompt. Once successfully logged in, the respective counseling fields on the Transaction > Transaction Signature screen are updated. Also, if the RPh is blank, the user, date, and time for the offering pharmacist that successfully logged in as the RPh is logged on the Transaction next to Counseling Performed with the date and time.
Non-Pharmacist
If the user logged on is not an RPh, the Offering Pharmacist and Password default to blank. The Patient Declined and Counseling Performed options default to on if the patient requested counseling on the Patient Counseling prompt. The RPh defaults to blank.
Transaction Signature Screen (Transaction Record)
If the RPh is selected from the dropdown beside the Counseling Performed option, and the record is saved, the selected RPh is saved with the date and time on the Transaction regardless of the Counseling Performed setting. These saved items are not cleared if the Counseling Performed option is unchecked and the record is saved.
Added Pharmacy Name to Therapeutic Interchange Notice
Added the pharmacy name, address, and phone number to the top of both the enhanced and non-enhanced Therapeutic Interchange Notices to provide the facility knowledge about which pharmacy sent the notice.
Added Patient Delivery Notes to Reports
Previously, to obtain delivery note details and which patients had them, Delivery Sheets had to be run. Added File choice, Delivery Recd, with an option for Delivery Note in Custom Reports to provide a quick way to report which patients have delivery notes along with note details. This can be of assistance in situations when you need to add specifics to a note for a delivery driver.
Expanded Medication Dispensed SIG Segment to Send Full 1,000 Characters
Expanded the previous 140 characters of the SIG to 1000 in the Medication Dispensed segment for Renewal Request and RxFill messages to ensure multi-SIGs are sent in their entirety.
Added Interface Control Option to Use UTC Conversion
A past Service Pack change caused the system to expect the start date and time in HL7 New Orders to be sent in UTC. However, HL7 vendors do not require date and time to be sent in UTC format. Added a UTC Conversion option to the Interface Control File so that you may choose to either accept as local time or UTC.
Updated Service Pack Compliant Message
Included more detail in Service Pack compliancy messages to include the amount of days since your last update.
Implemented VOD eVoucher Changes
To ensure that amounts from other payors are included in VOD e-Voucher claims and ensure accurate copays, added an Amount Recognized from Other Payor field to the Copay Breakdown window accessed via the Copay link on the Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary Billing screens.
Implemented 2D Verification: Automation for Extensible Markup Language (XML) Interfaces
To assist with 2D Verification, the Transaction now updates the lot number, serial number, and expiration date returned in the XML message when using an interface such as Parata.
Added an E-mail field to custom reports to allow pharmacies to generate reports for active employees with missing/invalid e-mail addresses. The report can be used to add/update e-mail addresses to ensure all users have a valid e-mail address for future enhancements, which improves system security and provides a seamless log-in process.
Added functionality to allow a duplicate e-mail to be entered and saved if the e-mail matches another user with the same first name, last name, and initials. This functionality was added to the Employee E-mail is Missing or Invalid prompt, the New Employee Wizard, and Employee Record.
Added Ability to Choose Cycle for Fill List Orders
Updated the Fill List process with the option to choose when a prescription is added to a Fill List to prevent double billing in certain post- consumption billing scenarios.
Prompt for Cycle Start
Added an option, Prompt for Cycle Start, to Fill List Options for routine and short cycle Fill Lists. Default = Unchecked, continues previous functionality.
Fill List Link
Added a link to the Fill List field for Start Date. If a prescription has a Fill List Indicator of 1 and the new Prompt for Cycle Start option is selected, a prescription is added new, with a Fill List Indicator, and the Fill List field becomes a hyperlink. Select to display a window with a date field and message, "Fill List start date matches Rx Start Date unless updated manually or by choosing a different Cycle Start. Change Fill List Date by editing the date field below or pressing OK." Or, select View Fill List to display a Fill List scan for that patient's facility. Double click a row with the date in which to start the prescription. Note: This process only applies to Fill Lists, and not Cycle Fills. The Fill List hyperlink remains until the prescription has been added to the Fill List.
Multi-SIG
If the date on the Fill List Start Date screen is changed and the prescription has a multi-SIG, and OK is selected, an "Rx has multiple SIGs, please verify start and stop date for each SIG before continuing." message displays. Select OK, and verify start and stop dates on the additional SIG records are correct once returned to the Rx Summary screen. Note: SIG verification/changes can be made either by selecting the chevron beside the SIG screen, or via Access Files icon > Multi-SIG.
Supplemental Fill List
To incorporate the changes to choose a cycle, updated the Supplemental Fill List to compare the Rx Start Date to the Fill List Start Date. If they match, the prescription is added to the Fill List. If the Fill List Start Date does not fall within the chosen fill list date range, the prescription is not added to the Fill List when running Supplemental Fill List. If the Fill List Start Date does fall within the chosen fill list date range, the prescription is added to the Fill List when running Supplemental Fill List. The prescription is also added to any subsequent Fill List just as it was prior to Service Pack 44.
