QS/1 interfaces with RxTran to print Sigs in different languages for patients with limited English proficiency. This software works outside of the QS/1 application and is a manual process for pharmacies. The pharmacy must access the RxTran website, log in and then initiate the process to translate the Sig and labels. Contact QS/1 Customer Support to have the web services gateway for RxTran configured.
To process a Sig for translation, follow the steps below:
Access the Patient
Record/Additional Information screen to select the language for Sig
translation. Enter the new prescription. The language selected for
the patient displays on the Drug and Dosage Information screen. Click
to display the Select
a Sig window. Select the Sig which most closely
matches the entry you made. Click Ok.
If a prescription
requires a refill or a change in the Sig, this can be done from the
Rx Summary screen. Click
to go directly to the Select a Sig window. The English Sig entered
during the prescription entry displays in RxTran, along with the selected
language.
Click the Sig link on the Drug and Dosage Information screen or the Rx
Summary screen to toggle between English and the language selected for
translation.
