The Scanning/Filling of Prescriptions is a batch filling program. Refill labels containing a barcoded Rx number are sent to the pharmacy to order refills.
To access:
Access PrimeCare.
Click Facility Management, Scan/Fill Prescriptions.
The Print Options screen displays. This screen is used to define the records to include in the current process and/or report.
Use the following field definitions to complete the Print Options:
Print Edit Report - Type YES to print a report showing which prescriptions were filled and which were not. If a prescription was not filled, the system prints the reason for the no fill.
Fill Rx's - Type YES to fill prescriptions. Type NO to print an edit report without filling prescriptions.
Filling Key - Type a character to
select the Rx filling functions:
V - (F8) Fill and no print
Z - (F10) Fill and Charge (No Print)
W - (F5) Label Only (Print/No Fill)
If you select one of the filling keys, type YES
in the Fill Rx's field, also.
Edit Code - This is one of the most
important features of the Cycle Fill program. In the System Management
File, set up a unique Price Plan that contains error message options
to apply to all cycle fill Rx's. This program uses only error message
options established on this Price Plan. All pricing occurs form the
Price Plan that is on the Rx. However, you will override all messages
on all Price Plans during this procedure. Be sure to set all non-important
messages to not display. Also, set such items as Life of the Rx Exceeded,
No Refills On Class 3, 4, OR 5, and Stop Date Has Been Exceeded, to
allow filling.
In Cycle Fill, the system automatically discontinues and reassigns
prescriptions that cannot be refilled.
Errors Only - Type YES to print any Rx's containing errors.
Remote Rx's - Type YES to discontinue and reassign prescriptions selected from a remote site to be refilled at a host site. This option is similar to the F13 and F14 functions from the Prescription Record with three exceptions:
The Remaining Refills field subtracts a refill as the refill is executed and the remaining number displays on the transferred Rx.
The Stop Date remains the same as the original Rx which was transferred.
If the normal No Refill Allowed exception (exceeded stop date, no refills remaining) exist, the prescription transfers using the normal F13 and F14 procedure.
Click Finish. The system prompts to scan the items to be refilled. When an inactive Rx is encountered, the system prompts to re-enter the Rx number.
The
system prompts to indicate whether to start the Filling Process. Select
YES or NO to begin the filling process.
