Auto Discontinue and Reassign Cycle Fill
The flags for discontinuing and reassigning (DC and Reassign) prescriptions
on the Price Plan you are using for Cycle Fill are set as follows. Access
this Price Plan and click Messages
on the vertical icon bar. Set all plan messages with Display Message =
Unchecked and Allow Fill = Checked except for the following:
- Class 2 Drug - Cannot Refill
- Days Supply is Blank or Invalid
- Inactive Script
- Quantity or Pricing Error
- Rx Has Already Been Refilled Today
These messages should be set with the Display Message = Checked and
Allow Fill = Unchecked.
Short meds display on the initial Cycle Fill List and are not pulled
into subsequent cycles.
The Auto DC and Reassign feature works provided the Cycle Fill Price
Plan is set up with messages that allow a fill in certain situations:
- Non-PRN medications are driven by the
refills remaining field. This is for prescriptions that were refilled
only one time with no refills remaining, the stop date has not been
exceeded and the Price Plan Message No Refills Remaining is set to
Allow Fill = Unchecked:

- If the Price Plan Message No Refills Remaining
is set to Allow Fill = Checked, the following displays:

- The Cycle Fill program looks at the Refills
Remaining field and does not consider the stop date of the prescription
in order to determine whether or not to reassign the prescription.
If you run the filling of Rxs program after the stop date of the prescription,
the system DCs the original order and Reassigns it provided the Price
Plan Message allows a fill under that condition:

- For PRN medications, the system reassigns
PRNs baed solely on the expiration date rather than the number of
refills remaining. The system reassigns the PRN medications only when
you are using filling of Rxs on a date that exceeds the stop date
of the PRN drug order.
